 Responsibilities:
Oversee testing in the Plating Department laboratory, including tests for Copper, Nickel, Cyanide, Zinc, and Chrome using the Atomic Absorption Machine. Ensure tests conform to EPA guidelines and match outside lab results. Daily testing of both semi and bright nickels for copper and zinc contamination.
Direct adherence to safety and environmental rules and regulations.
Analyze plating solutions to verify conformance to specifications and supervise plating tests.
Maintain general housekeeping in the lab and ensure all documentation, records, test results, and processes are up to date and readily available for inspection.
Revise current processes and ensure testing is conducted according to standard practices and national standards.
Train ab Technicians to perform calculations based on titration results and make timely additions to plating tanks to maintain process targets.
Maintain control of plating tank additions using Amperes-hour meter controllers and addition protocols.
Train and supervise all plating employees in accordance with company policies and procedures, focusing on performance and safety.
Inspect parts before and after the plating process to identify defects and enforce quality guidelines.
Schedule plating of compatible parts to maximize tank utilization.
Achieve monthly production goals established by the Plant Manager.
Orderand maintain plating supplies and ensure all equipment and plating areas are clean and organized.
Report all incidents, including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses, to appropriate management personnel.
